HLTAID012 Provide First Aid In An Education and Care Setting
Self-paced pre-learning: 1 - 2 hours
Virtual Assessment Class: 60 minutes
Students must have a current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid
In An Education & Care Setting Certificate to complete this course.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to perform a First Aid response to a child or infant in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to child or infant in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian National Peak Clinical Bodies.
Students completing this course must have a current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid In An Education & Care Setting Certificate. It must be shown to the trainer at the Live Virtual Assessment Class. Students who do not have this certificate are advised to complete the Standard course.
The Childcare First Aid virtual classroom offers a live online video conference experience, combining the benefits of a traditional face-to-face classroom with the convenience of studying from home or the workplace.
This class requires some pre-learning to be completed online before attending the live virtual assessment class. It includes the same physical components as an in-person class, such as performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin on the floor and 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR an infant manikin.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will gain the following units:
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
HLTAID010 Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid In An Education and Care Setting

Self-paced online pre-learning: 1 - 2 hours
Live Virtual Assessment Class: 60 minutes
This course takes approximately 3 hours to complete
This course requires online pre-learning to be completed before the assessment class.
All pre-learning must be completed at least 24 hours before attending your scheduled live virtual assessment class.
Students who do not complete their online pre-learning will not be admitted into their live virtual assessment class and will forfeit their course fees.
All Live Virtual classrooms are held via Microsoft Teams and
are scheduled in AEDT during daylight savings time.
Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid In an Education & Care Setting
Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Students need a current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid In an Education & Care Setting Certificate and will need to show it to their trainer in the Live Virtual Assessment Class to gain entry into this course.
Assessments will be completed via a combination of knowledge questions, practical tasks and simulated scenarios.
You will be required to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an Adult & Child Manikin on the floor.
Webcams must be positioned so your trainer can see at all times.
This course requires the use of a Training Kit to complete the Live Virtual Assessment Class.
Once payment has been received a Training Kit will be posted out to you via Australia Post. Please ensure you have left enough time for delivery of your kit before your scheduled virtual assessment class.
Training Kits are posted using Australia Post and sent from Melbourne, Victoria. Training Kits are posted Monday - Friday in the morning. Please allow up to 48 hours after enrolment on business days for kits to be processed.
Training Kits are to be returned to us using the provided return satchel and dropped off at your local Australia Post outlet within 2 business days of your completed virtual assessment class.
* Late returns will incur in a $200.00 late fee.
Upon successful completion of this course and return of the Training Kit students will be emailed a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment issued by our partner RTO ABC First Aid.
Statement of Attainments are issued Monday to Friday during Business Hours.
*Statement of Attainments are not issued on weekends or QLD Public Holidays.
Once a training Kit has been dispatched no refund will be issued. Students are required to return the Training Kit.

Statement of Attainment is valid for 3 years.
*Please note that the CPR component of this training is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
